  RAVA IDIL

Ingredients

1 cup wheat cream/ sooji/rava (medium thick)
½ tsp. mustard seeds

½ tsp. Grated and crushed ginger
2-3 finely chopped green chilies
1 tsp. chana daal
¼ tsp. baking soda
3/4 cup grated carrot
2-3 strands of coriander(cilantro) leaves

2 tsp. grated coconut(fresh or frozen)
2 ½ cup yogurt/curd
1-2 tbsp. oil

1 tsp. Cashews(optional)

3-4 slices of tomato
Salt

Instructions

Roast sooji till a nice aroma comes out.(may be for 5 to 7 min)

Heat oil and add mustard seeds. When they start popping, add ginger, green chilies, chana daal and fry for 1-2 min.
Switch off the heat and immediately add sooji, mix well.
Add salt, soda, carrot, coriander leaves, coconut, yogurt/curd and mix well. Leave it for around 30mins.
Grease an idli stand. Keep half cashew ,half slice of tomato,a leaf of cilantro and then put the batter on top (so that when the idlis are removed, the cashews and tomato can be seen on the top).
Steam for around 12-15min,
allow it to cool for 1-2 min and unmold it and Serve hot with coconut chutney and alu masal.

             Bread chaat

Ingredients

1 Bread slice
1 tbsp. grated carrot
1 tbsp. chopped onion
1 tbsp. chopped tomato
1 tbsp. smashed potato (boiled pilled)
1 tbsp. chopped cilantro
¼ tsp. red chilly powder
¼ tsp. chaat masal
1 tbsp.mint chutney or green chutney
1 tbsp. sweet chutney
½ cup well-beaten yogurt with pinch of salt
1 tbsp. sev

Instructions 

Take a bread slice put 1 tbsp. of grated carrot, 1 tbsp. of chopped onion, 1 tbsp. of chopped tomato, 1 tbsp. of boiled piled and smashed potato.
Put some chopped cilantro, sprinkle chaat masal and red chilly powder then put mint chutney and sweet chutney.
Then pour well beaten yogurt with pinch of salt.
Then garnish with sev, cilantro and sweet chutney.

Bread chaat is ready to eat …….
